Dollar Store!!!

So I have officially deemed myself a Dollar Store Wh*re!! I have been there so often lately even the personel are starting to recognize me...lol... I love the crafting opportunities you find in their products!!!Some of my dollar store finds include:
I Love these Celtic tiles but have yet to find a use for them!!
fleur de lis statue.. awesome as is!!
My most recent find (today) is this bamboo windchime
I bought my husband this zen garden and the frog. he added a few of his own stones.. he loved it!! our room is asian themed so it fits perfectly.
My dollar store is currently carrying these paper lanterns. my daughters room will be kind of 'indian' themed and i thought these would be a good start. plus their just cute!! i even used some dollar store faux cherry blossoms to add a cute touch to one of them..

My Dollar Store Crafts:
Chinese paper lanterns
Supplies: 4 photo frames and handmade paper...all found at the dollar store! (plus youll need some good glue.. i dont suggest super glue.. it tends to make a mess..)

i traced the shape of each piece of glass onto the paper and then cut it out. i used modege podge around the inside of the frame to make the paper stick. i thought glue would be a bit too heavy for the paper. replace the glass and let it dry. you can then remove the glass if you wish ( the light wil shine through a bit better). i kept the glass in mine because it will be more durable ( i live in an apartment and dont want the paper to get ripped when i move)
glue the four frames together and ta da.. an awesome chinese lantern you can hang or even just leave on the table. mine will be hung.. i just have yet to get the chains. you can light them however you choose. im going to try and use the flameless candles my dollar store is currently carrying..
this craft was featured on dollar store crafts.....

Rock Display:
My husband collects rocks and i found these boxes at my dollar store a few months ago.. i painted them and hung them and they now look awesome displying his collection. im hoping to put squares of mirror in the back and labels below the rocks. i would also like to use some plexi glass or something to create a cover... ill update soon with before pictures..

How cool is that - I've always been under the impression that arts and crafts require a lot of monetary investment. I'm so impressed at what you're doing on the super cheap.
Love the Frame Lantern.

Also congratulations and good luck with the new arrival - how exciting!

My site has a lot of excluѕive content I've either written myself or outsourced but it seems a lot of it is popping it up all over the internet without my authorization. Do you know any techniques to help reduce content from being stolen? I'd really
appreciate it.
